 LOOKING FOR A KINGDOM BREAK-THROUGH?

Sunday, May 11th (Pentecost Sunday and Mother’s Day) was a monumental day in the life and vibrancy of our church family. In both our morning services, we experienced a powerful increase of the presence of God that certainly rivals any touch of God we’ve experienced in our ten years of existence! For those who weren't with us, it was so powerful we ran out of time in our second service for our normal teaching time and we even forgot to take an offering! So you know that's not normal church!

So what happened? During our extended worship time, there was a definite uplift in many people’s lives as God seemed to draw very close to us as a worshipping community. In recent weeks, we’ve not only been hearing God call us to live in an increased expectancy of what He wants to accomplish in and through our lives, but we’ve also been experiencing an increase of actual physical healings and spiritual breakthroughs occurring in people’s lives. Sunday, May 11th seemed to be the most powerful encounter yet for many in our midst, especially as we ended our time together on Sunday morning by blessing families and kids with Jesus' presence! More, Lord!

Pentecost Sunday (see Acts 2) was the first occurrence of the Holy Spirit being poured out “on all people”, birthing the Church of Jesus Christ as we know it today. As the Holy Spirit was poured out on the 120 men and women gathered in the upper room, over 3,000 souls came into a saving relationship with Christ in one day! If we interpret the New Testament writings using Kingdom of God glasses, we see that the “last days” Peter refers to in his teaching in Acts 2, actually began that day 2,000 years ago and continues into today. If we view church history using that same set of Kingdom glasses, we see that we can and should fully expect similar powerful in-breakings of God’s Kingdom at any time, based on God’s discretion and strong desire to empower His Church to take His Gospel words and works to the “very ends of the earth”.

The Vineyard church family was actually birthed out of an outpouring of God’s Spirit that was occurring in the USA during the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Now, nearly thirty years later, it appears that God may again be pouring out another major move of His Spirit, touching a whole new generation of people who have rarely tasted what theologians might call renewal or revival.

In the Vineyard, we don’t claim to foresee the future, nor do we claim to have all the answers when it comes to fully understanding God’s power, but we do know from our history with the in-breaking of God’s Kingdom, when Jesus begins pouring out His grace and mercy in abundant ways, we want to be there and receive as much impartation and indwelling as we can.

Here at Vineyard Church of Cedar Rapids, we sense the Church of Jesus Christ is on the verge of a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit that can indwell and empower us to extend the Kingdom of God to our local communities and beyond. We believe we are always called, as evangelicals, to be about taking the Gospel outside our church buildings and into the streets, and as the Holy Spirit comes in power, we want to avail ourselves of that power and presence of God to indwell and empower us for that commission.

We invite you to come, bringing your unsaved friends and neighbors, or others needing a healing or a Kingdom break-through, and join us together as we worship God, seeking Him for more of His sweet presence, and prayerfully requesting Him to send a powerful Kingdom outpouring in Cedar Rapids and beyond.

Finally, if, in the coming weeks, God truly touches you in a powerful way at one of our Sunday morning services, we want to hear about it. Please CLICK HERE and give us the details. We plan to share many of these powerful Holy Spirit testimonies in future gatherings, and may contact you asking if you’d be willing to share your testimony with others!

In His service!

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade,
Is there a world you long to see?
Do you hear the people sing?
Say, do you hear the distant drums?
It is the future that they bring,
When tomorrow comes...
Tomorrow comes!

May the Kingdom of God and glory of our Rescuing King, which awaits us in fullness tomorrow, break in upon this present day!
