GIVING
YOUR LIFE TO JESUS.
Here at Father’s House
Vineyard Church, we believe being a Christian is all about relationship...relationship
with God, the Father, through Jesus Christ, His Son, empowered by
The Holy Spirit. For nearly 2,000 years now, basic Christianity
has always focused around three major components of faith...Confession,
Baptism and Communion.
Confession:
Jesus of Nazareth
is Lord & Savior. "I have
come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John
10:10
Rich
or poor. Well-educated or street-smart. Sinner or saint. Men, women
& children, representing nearly every tribe, language, people or
nation, have come to Jesus of Nazareth looking for answers to life's
hard questions. While some turn away in disappointment, many have
found that Jesus offers more than just quick solutions to life's
problems. He offers Himself, as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
"At one time we too were foolish, disobedient,
deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We
lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But
when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved
us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of
His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal
by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through
Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace,
we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life".
Titus 3: 3-7
Confession is a very simple thing. It can be easily summarized
in three phrases...
Sorry!
"Jesus, my life is not all I know God wants it to be. My sins and
selfishness alienate me from God and rob me of the destiny and purpose
He has planned for me. I'm sorry, Lord, please forgive me!"
Please!
"Jesus, please
come into my heart. Wash over me with your mercy & grace, filling
me with Your life and purpose. Not my will be done, Lord...but Yours!"
Thank You!
"Jesus,
thank you for dying on the Cross for me. Thank you that Your sacrifice
has purchased for me a new life that begins today. Thank you, Lord,
for the gift of the Holy Spirit that fills me with Your love and
empowers me to live my life for You!"

Baptism is a key event in the life
of a believing Christian. As you enter the baptismal waters, you
join with fellow Christians over the last two thousand years who
have decided to "make public" their decision to follow Jesus as
Lord & Savior! In order to make the day more meaningful, we suggest
you attend our one-hour Baptism class held during our first service
at 9:15 AM. Here you'll discover the powerful meaning & purpose
behind public baptism & join with others in prayer before this important
life-changing decision. Be sure to bring a towel, and a second set
of modest clothing (no swimsuits, please) with you to change into
before your baptism. This can be a day you will remember the rest
of your life! Don't miss it! If YOU are interested in getting baptized,
we'll schedule YOU for our next Baptism Sunday...

Dedications @ The House

@ 'The House'
What about my children? Why do you
DEDICATE younger children rather than baptize them?
The Bible says that a baby is a blessing
from God. When you decide to dedicate your son or daughter, you
are acknowledging the awesome responsibility God has given you in
raising your child. A baby dedication is a ceremony that expresses
your desire as parents to raise your son or daughter in the ways
of the Bible and to ask God to use your son or daughter for His
purposes. You submit your will for your child to His will. The Bible
provides an example for this in that Mary and Joseph took baby Jesus
to the temple to be dedicated to God. Jesus was baptized not as
a young child but as an adult who was able to make his own decision
on the subject. Generally, we encourage parents who have not dedicated
their child to God to do so if the child is still in grade five
or below. After that age, most children are ready to make their
own decision to be baptized. If you are interested in dedicating
your children to the Lord in this public way,
contact us
or call 390-9300.
Communion:
Communion Sunday
@ The House
Last Sunday of each
month, 9:15 & 10:45 Worship Services @ The House
Communion
is one of the most sacred moments in the Christian faith. Here @
The House we celebrate The Lord's Supper on a monthly basis by including
Communion in our Sunday morning worship services on the last Sunday
of every month. We practice 'open' Communion here @ The House, meaning
anyone who has committed themselves to Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior
is welcome to share Communion with us.
So now what?
Now
that you've given your life to Jesus, your journey with God has
just begun! May we suggest you prayerfully consider building some
vital relationships with other people who love Jesus and want to
walk with Him as well. Here @ The House, we offer a four-step plugging-in
process (Vineyard 100 series) and
community-building small groups (Life Groups)
which can assist you in finding your unique place in our community
of faith.
