Many don't realize that John Wimber was not only an anointed pastor, teacher & speaker, but he also was a highly talented musician. In the early 1960's, John had developed a number of musical acts ranging from jazz groups to rock'n'roll bands. In 1962, he brought two of his musician friends together, Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield, and formed The Righteous Brothers. Just as they were making their name known nationally, John came to Christ and signed off all his rights to the group. According to Carol Wimber, it was during this season of sacrifice, as John gave up his lucrative music career for his passion for Jesus, that God birthed Vineyard Music. Years later, John's worship songs like "Isn't He?" and others literally traveled around the world and have gone on to become Christian classics.
