VOLUNTEER WORK TEAMS NEEDED IN FLOOD RECOVERY EFFORTS!

From now until EASTER 2009, we are scheduling volunteer work crews to focus on our WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY FLOOD RECOVERY EFFORT. Teams can come to Cedar Rapids during weekdays or weekends! Call us and we can work out the details for your volunteer group!

We can use any number of volunteers (from teen-agers to retired folks) and you don't have to have special skills in order to come and serve! There is always something you can do to help others in the flood recovery efforts!

If you do have general re-construction skills (such as painting, dry-walling, or other basic construction skills) or are specialized in plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, or have other skilled construction experience, we'd love to talk to you about coming to Cedar Rapids on a short term basis to help us in this next exciting phase of REBUILDING our community!

EMAIL US OR CALL our flood recovery effort coordinator (VIC PRINZE) at 319-241-7226

Let’s keep the CEDAR RAPIDS FLOOD RECOVERY EFFORT
moving forward!
Beginning in the fall of 2008, we began moving from SHORT TERM RELIEF (gutting and cleaning-up of homes) to LONG-TERM RECOVERY (rebuilding and restoring of homes). And YOU can help!

But...how?  One quarter at a time!

Things you CAN'T do with a quarter:

  • Make a pay phone call
  • Get from the gas pump to the curb!
  • Get 5 sticks of gum
  • Play one of the new arcade games!

Things you can do?

Put a flood victim back into their home!

We know what you're thinking...with a quarter? Yes! Here's the "Change-A-Life" math:

25 cents a day for a year  = $91.25

100 people giving their change = $9125.00

450 people giving their change = $41,062.50

So to put it another way, is there a quarter in your couch? At the bottom of your wash machine? Or in between the seats of your car?  Are there 5 empty Pepsi cans? If “yes” then combined with your daily pocket change you absolutely have the power to put a family back in their home. The lie is that the problem is bigger then you. The reality is it’s a quarter a day.

   GREAT NEWS!
